That's putting the focus on games right there, above and beyond their insistence on getting demoes out there for many games. I just wouldn't get too too hyped about unannounced games or new IPs but there will be at least a surprise or 2 for the U, as is custom. For Sony, their showcase was all about the games, with much greater reason this year's E3. For Microsoft, if their showcase focus wasn't about the games, I'm not sure why their e3 would be if the company's vision isn't aligned with that. On the flipside, having not shown games at the showcase may mean they left that for e3, which is a gaming convention after all. So maybe that's the scenario for Microsoft. Whether only 2 or all 3 of the makers showing games, either way it will be big on games, so I think you'll be pleased. |
Kidding right?

No. From Nintendo's press releases all through the year it's been announced that e3 this year will bear a heavy focus on games. For Microsoft, it's not clear it could go either way. Their showcase told us "we're not focused on games but on entertainment, games included", but then e3 is a gaming convention so it also makes sense that they reserved the showcase for general entertainment reveals and e3 for game reveals. It's up in the air.
