Am I the only one puzzled by a full open world platformer 3D Mario?

How are they going to do that? Will it be something like Super Mario Sunshine?

I sure hope not as I liked Sunshine the least of all 3D Marios

But was it because of the opena nature of the game or because the water cannon?

I didn't really like the setting or the water cannon

I honestly prefer Galaxy and N64 stile
