Where is the news? NO dev on earth throws away *all* code to build a new engine. NO dev. And why would you do so? Crucial parts get written new, some only extended, it's common business. If you ask KZ-devs they will most probably tell you they are indeed using some of parts of their old engine. Of course not everything because PS4 has no spus.
