Ok that was the picture in picture multitasking. From the slides Sony has shown of their OS this feature is also supported.

This pic shows Voice/Video/Text/Live Streaming all at the same time.

 

I forgot about that. The application is highly gamer-centric wouldn't you agree? Whereas in the xbox presentation it was anything that could be snapped on from skype to IE to a fantasy league.

I agree this is a very game specific example. Sony focused way more on gaming in their event so this is the only example out there at the moment. 

After E3 I will deffenetly be coming back to update this thread with new info from both companies.
