The problem is the industry can't seem to fathom this, and believes that only "triple A" budget titles can succeed and has to continue to be the primary focus. Different specification hardware encourages diversity which encourages competition, and I think the industry would be better off if Wii U can take off and garner more support. |
To be honest, I was one of the few of the same thought. That same ideal almost dwindle to none-existence if it wasn't for the Wii! I fought, almost lost, got sucked in the everybody mentality, until THAT spesific console came in the scene and different enough to give my needs and made me think of "not being the part of the herd" is not such a bad ideal after all! And how this gen been going, I can see the stuffs that Nintendo didn't want to be part of is what I didn't want either and would practicly made me get away from my gaming hobby/passion entirely.
And you know what, I wouldn't mind to be the old-geezer that like my outdated look on things if the trend is going as it is... And that's the reason why I would stick with Nintendo on their philossiphy. I never wanted my gaming machine to be everything else... But like you say, the majority is not looking it that way, everything needs to do the same thing for them. I just want some electronics to have a special function. :/
