On principle:
You don't own the games you buy, your access to them is a service provided by Microsoft on the condition of a daily verification. If you do not allow Microsoft to verify you should have access to that service it will be revoked until you can verify it by going online.
Practically:
If your account is hacked and becomes suspended you're entire library of games is either temorarily or permanently a wonderful paperweight.
