It is pretty much the only possitive info, that is ONLY possitive for the consumer, yet. Sure, 'the bashing is getting old' but some of the info that is coming out is just crazy & shouldn't be accepted.. imo.

Some of you don't understand jack when it comes to technology benefits here. There is a ton of positives when it comes to the new Xbox One even when it comes to this digiatl distribution and DRM.
- You don't have to worry about games being scratched ever
- Games and game saves follow you around anywhere you go. No need to carry disks around.
- Games and gameplay can dynamically change on the fly since they are not tied to the disk
- Games have a potential of being cheaper and Microsoft is implementing a method for gamers to resell used games directly to each other
If you were to list every improvement Xbox One is bringing to the table you would have one massive thread. However the community here is just focusing one 2 things they will no longer be able to do. "borrow" games from friends and buy used games.
Its just sad...

Ok, no discs, all fine and dandy. Digital only games arn't new. full releases, watch i.e. wii U, 3ds, prob. 360/PS3 too? (was a while since i played on em' so i don't remember)
The change here is i cannot lend a game from a friend, i have to buy it upfront, or.. he has to come to my house and login with his account (making him unable to play anywhere else i'm sure), then play it on his profile and.. if i decide to buy it, i won't keep my progress since it is tied to his profile.. < that makes it f*cking painfull to try stuff. yeah, sure, you can argue that 'this is like steam' but the thing steam wins on is PC modding & dirt-cheap gaming. If you allow people to re-sell their games.. how the hell can you do a i.e. 75% sale (that is not uncommon on steam) and then, when the sale ends, enable the user to sell that discounted offer to someone else? Or are they going to restrict what you are able to re-sell? (= things i would like to lend someone instead)
Sure, i might 'be smoking' but are you not at all concerned about any of these points? and if a game decides to use those cloud features (azure), always online required even for the single player if they do it.. just makes me cringe a bit.

Not being able to lend games to friends is a downside for sure, even though it doesn't impact me in any way.
However it's just the nature of this whole ecosystem/digital distribution/DRM business. When you buy Angry Birds on your iPad, you can't lend it to a friend on his iPad.
I really don't see it as all bad at all. On top of benefits I listed above, implementing this DRM will lead to better places down the road. Things like online game rentals, all you can play passes will become available... Also, money from sales on next gen games will be going to the publishers rather than ebay merchants and Gamestop. They will be able to pass the savings down to the end user as well.
