I wish I could say that. But when I told my sons that if Sony pulls an Xbone on used games we're not getting a PS4, they said "fuck you Dad! We're getting a PS4 even if we pay for it ourselves", well the didn't say fuck you, but it was a fuck you response.

Technically if I don't put any money into the PS4 purchase can I claim to have skipped this generation even if I play several PS4 games over the next few years on my sons' PS4?

Holy shit, that would be having  my cake and eating it too! There is an upside to having kids after all.
