Yeah, the 360 controller takes 2 AA batteries. You can replace them with an actual rechargeable battery, but it is an accessory you must purchase separately from the console, the "Play & Charge Kit".

And yes I was surprised by this when I got my 360, and had to spend on the charge kit (was worth it though, dealing with AA's must suck), because I was used to PS3's Dualshock 3, which I simply need to plug to USB cable and charge via console. Much simpler.

Good thing I decided to use my PS3 controller for PC gaming.

Also wow....as if I wasnt sick enough to pay for AA batteries for my wiimote....hmm.

There is a charge kit for wiimote since launch


Officially made by Nintendo or third party ones? I've only see third party ones and I've heard batteries exploding or something (probably from overcharging due to customer fault) but still ;x.
