Best console game of this generation

I don't really like giving any game the title of "best of gen"
Different games appeal to different things that I enjoy, and it's very difficult to say "this was flat out better than that"

I'll say my personal favourites this gen are probably Alan Wake, Mass Effect, and Halo 3
