Uh, actually, that just sounds like your opinion, and one I disagree with completely. Half-life would lead us to believe that it's pretty damn good as a storytelling format, as would BioShock or Fallout 3/NV. As for "anyone who has ever made a game," I think Ken Levine kind of disproves that: "The first-person is very powerful. It is at the end of the day where interactive experiences, where the ultimate goals, lie, because that's what our experience is." Sorry, couldn't disagree with you more. On topic, I want a Killzone with a more open world. It's such a great universe that I want to play around in it some. Like if KZ3 had side-missions through the wreckage of the city, something like that. Linear is fine in a lot of ways, it's a fun ride, but you don't need to be pushed constantly. It would have been cool to have made a base camp for awhile, where you could go after several bonus objectives. I'm hoping KZM does something to scratch that itch. |
Yea its personal opinion, wasn't trying to portray it as anything but. I just despise FP view, I find it silly. First off its not even within perportion because your hands to not rest a foot infront of you at all times. Also the height is usually totally off. I have only ever appreciated the POV in one game, Mirror's Edge. It was totally believable in that, unfortunately the game itself was a tad broken.
