...Seriously though, having experienced this kind of stuff...one really doesn't know the real effects of abortion and all the feelings and understanding surrounding it until you go through it.

It's like when a family member dies, even of old age, you're never prepared for it, and you guys in this thread aren't really qualified to have an opinion. (yes I know that sounds silly, but it's one of those things).

I have never experienced the effects of my own child being aborted since I could never bring myself to even consider that choice, but I can understand you to an extent.

When my sister had her first pregnancy about 9 years ago she always talked to me about how happy she was. She had all these things planned out, about me being the godfather of the child, etc... I was actually very excited, because I love my sister and I was excited that she was going to make me an uncle.

Then a couple months later she comes home and tells me she had an abortion because the father of the baby said he would leave her if she had the child.

It made me incredibly upset, enough that we both cried. I felt like I lost a part of my family. To this day I feel that that decision also took a part of my sister with it.

Now she is with a new guy and they have been together for ~6 years now and my niece just turned 5.
