For those of you who don't know, during today's ND, Nintendo announced a new exclusive Sonic game called Sonic: Lost Worlds. They also said they had a strong partnership with Sega and that we should expect more announcements in the future (specifically mentioning the Sonic franchise). It's known that Sega also had exclusive Sonic games for the Wii (all of them bad except for Colors), but this proofs the point that Nintendo and Sega relations are probably stronger than ever. Yakuza 1 & 2 HD were also announced for the Wii U

This is a trend Nintendo has been doing since the launch of the Wii U: Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101, Shin Megami x Fire Emblem, publishing Lego City and Monster Hunter in Europe. The same thing can be said about the 3DS with Monster Hunter 4 for example.

I mentioned this before but it's clear that Nintendo strategy this gen is to get exclusive games via partnerships with 3rd party companies. Imo this is best thing Nintendo could do.

So far it seems it's only been Japanese companies, but maybe Nintendo will make some other partnerships with western 3rd parties (they seem to already have a good partnership with Ubisoft, but no big exclusive games so far, aside of ZombiU).
