Right, remind me again why GTA isn't considered a casual game? It was the most popular thing around among my elementary & middle school classmates. You know, 10-to-12-year-olds?

The casual-core argument is stupid and I will not indulge it any further in this thread. As if one console's success is more "legitimate" because its best-selling titles appealed to a different market from another successful console's.

I agree with u on GTA, so many people bought that game just to cause mayhem and kill hookers. A few people I know own every GTA game but have never even tried actually playing thru the missions

And his other example of "core" games was Gran Turismo. A racing game for crying out loud!

Really, I could complain about any game being classified as "core" or "casual" because these classifications are imaginary. They are fake. And offensive.

Yeah....I'm sure all those 10-12 year-olds' parents were buying those games for them. And I'm still not seeing GTA being a game played by soccer moms and senior citizens.

10-year-olds are core but middle-aged parents are casual?

What a relief, I'd like to tell you about this game called Mario Kart Wii.
