I wouldn't mind another First Person Perspective Metroid game, so long as it isn't called Metroid Prime. Nothing against the name, the Prime Trilogy is up there with the original Phoenix Wright Trilogy as my favorite trilogy of all time, but calling it Prime 4 makes it seem like it's an addition to the Phazon Trilogy, when in reality it has nothing to do with it.

(Yes, I know, Hunters has the word Prime stuck on it for some stupid reason as well. Doesn't make that ok either).

If I had my way, though, I'd prefer another attempt at a 3rd Person Metroid in the style of Other M, only fixing all of the horrible mistakes that Other M made. No forced perspective switching to shoot missiles, no first person stand still and search sections, no long drawn out cutscenes/monologues, actually use a full controller instead of a Wii remote turned sideways, make exploration the focus again, etc. If you can ignore the story of Other M, I think it's a good game on it's own merits; and it still screwed up in many places along the way.

Control layout would be relatively simple. Use either the Gamepad or Pro Controller. Left stick to move, right stick to look around. RZ for shoot, LZ for jump, Tap L for lock on, Tap R to cycle missiles on or off. A/B/X/Y could be beam selectors, D-Pad could be visor selectors (and visors would work something like Detective Mode in the Arkham games), select would bring up the map (which could be display constantly on the Gamepad if that's being used), and start would pause the game.
