Shortages were proven real whether you want to admit it or not. Sony said they would fully restock vita by the end of april, which they did, hence the increase of sales the two weeks after their statement. Even the week before golden week they sold more than 20.000 psvitas, which was much higher than the sales of the week they made that statement.
