So essentially all Nintendo did was:
-Scaled down the main conference slightly in terms of the demos of games presented and added in a some more numbers/figures/graphs for the shareholders/analysts.
-Kept their booths for hands on experience for media pretty much the same.
-Added in a lot of Nintendo directs to show the games off directly themselves besides the media coverage.
The only major change is the addition of NDs, which is great but they communicated the message horribly. Instead of focusing on "We won't have a main conference" they should have just let everyone see their main conference along with all the NDs. They should have said that the main conference this year will be more tailored towards shareholders/analysts and the real info for gamers will be delivered through NDs. That way people could choose to either watch or ignore their main conference if they wished. It's not like the info there is under any kind of NDA, so people will find out anyway if they said anything interesting.
