I am growing whether you want me to or not. :P

Anyway, I probably shoulda specified in the title but this is DD v.s. MK7 as those are the two highest regarded karts. Graphically, I actually believe MKWii n 7 are brighter and more colorful which I like, but really all Karts look fine so eh. In my +100 hours of MK7, I haven't noticed any framerate issues. It's been consistently smooth and the 3D makes it look even more vibrant and crisp.

There may not be any double karts in MK7, but what it does have is kart customization, which you can also experiment with n such. No character specials, but I feel that only helps keep the game balanced. Handling is just something you have to get used to from game to game. MK7's handling is probably different from DD but that doesn't mean it's better or worse. MKs controls are always solid afterall.

MK7 does have a Bomb-omb only option in it's balloon battle mode, and instead of Sunshine Chasers there's Coin Runners, which I'm guessing is the same thing but with coins instead.
I've actually done 1 v 1s in MK7, and I've been able to catch-up, but also hold the lead, but I think that's more because I'm too good hehe.

I think Mario Kart 7 is an excellent game so I don't have much against it. That said, I like DD better.

The framerate issues were with the Wii version specifically. I don't like the karts in MK7 though, they are bland and poorly designed. The customization had a lot of potential, but ultimately felt flat with lack of options.

I know you can set the items to be Bomb-omb only, but there is a massive flaw with MK7's battle mode. It's still time based and designed for a lot of players. You can't participate on deathmatches.

MK7 fixed the item unbalance from MKWii, but I do prefer the chaotic-fair dose of Double Dash.

Well like I said (or atleast should have if I didn't already), it's perfectly fine if peoples like MKDD better. However that's not what this thread be about. Saying you likes X game more than Y game is different from saying X game is better than Y game. A game can be your favorite for any reason, but there's always specific reasons for one game being better than another. With this thread I'm trying to find those reasons behind those who say MKDD is better than MK7 and see if they stack up against my reasons for saying the opposite. So far this where I'm at,

Mario Kart Double Dash:

-Robust Character Roster

-Superior Local Multiplayer (More Options/Modes, CO-OP play)

-Additional Depth n Customization through Double Karts

Mario Kart 7:

-Online Multiplayer

-Most Balanced Item Line-up

-Retro Tracks

-Second Screen

-Additional Depth in Tracks (Tricks, Coins, Gliding, Water)

-Customizable Karts

Lemme know if I missed anything! Anywho, for the rest of your post, I'm just the opposite when it come to MK7s Karts. Lakitu + Roller + Soda Jet + Paraglider = my favorite Kart ever! It just looks cewl and makes so much sense! As does Daisy + Bumble V + Sponge + Flower Glider. I could name dozens of my favorite combinations but that wouldn't mean anything for this debate as there's no set rule on what makes a Kart good or bad atleast not one I'm aware of. All the possible combinations are pretty well balanced, so you can use whatever is to your liking. As for battle mode, I'm guessing they had to change it to timed for online as I bet most people don't like the idea of sitting there doing nothing after they die. Course that's no excuse for offline play not having it as an option this be true. And while MK7 has been toned down item wise, races can still be nothing but a hetic flurry of items, especially when everyone is evenly good and are competent with their items and you're playing on empty straightaway tracks like that gosh darn Kalamari Desert. Oh, and Blue Shell followed by Red Shell followed by invincibility guy can still happen too. :L
