Bad marketing isn't the problem, it's the lack of good software at a good price point and a bunch of extra unneeded stuff. (Memory cards and all that)
I mean if bad marketing was really the problem....
Ok so they Vita's marketing isn't as bad as this but yeah it could be better. The problem is trying to sell the Vita during holiday seasons using one of the worst games made of the last decade. I saw way too many Vita ads using CoD:Declassified on youtube.
