It's technically less than even that. Really no one truly knows, but on neogaf they speculate a core config of 160:8:4, which you don't see above 240 gflops. However, the thing has a lot of transistors, over 700 mil, so there is some nintendo fixed function TEV magic going on as well. Hence, the criterion guys saying how at first look you can dismiss the HW but once you look at strengths, find out Wii U "punches above its weight". So it may actually perform to a gpu that ghas over 400 gflops. Its still a big mystery.
But in the end, it doesn't really matter, U is only slightly above PS360 in terms of visual evidence, so its nothing more than a continuanceslight evolution/ of that gen. The only way Nintendo will make powerful HW again, is if one of MS or Sony leave the console market, where 3rd party becomes viable again. Remember GC was arguably the most powerful (actual performance, efficiency wise) yet it was the most shunned from PS2/Xbox. "Never again" said Ninty after the shame of GC. I personally am hoping MS bullies Sony out of the market (might as well root for the American) so Nintendo can be relevent again. Until that time, Nintendo is nothing more than a Miyamoto box, and if it wants to succeed, needs to drastically slash its price to $250 and lower.
