I'd be willing to pay over $100 extra for BC. Why? My PS3 broke 2 years ago, and I haven't replaced it because I was hoping the PS4 would be BC. PS4 isn't BC though, so now I have to pay $200 or so (will find a sale) for a standalone PS3, and I'll wait a couple years for PS4 price cuts, so I don't spend too much money on consoles.
Ideally, I'd like to wait until PS4 is $150 or so cheaper then at launch, as a protest, since I think PS4 should have been BC, and I'm not paying extra because they chose not to make it so.
