The original X-Box also had more third party support then the Gamecube especially by Western developers so nothing changed. The situation has been pretty much the same since the launch of the X-Box brand. Also the 720 or whatever MS next console will be called will get much better third party support then the Wii U so nothing is going to change in the near future.
