Not really, since Sony still has reported PS3+PS2 as one combined number for the part 9 months and there is no way to seperate those. Unless somehow Sony actually does for us. In which case I am sure we will find PS3 is still behind.
Hasn't stopped Sony fans from wrongly declaring victory like 50 times already, and they probably will yet again with these new numbers tonight.

what we know is sony shipped 70 mil a month after 360 did. we know ps2 has been discontinued in japan and possibly WW. We know last year ps2 only shipped 1.5 mil during the busiest 6months. and we know sony shipped over 6.8mil playstations for the holidays. Honestly, we know enough to be able to estimate numbers accuratly enough to get an idea how they perform. and ps3 is damn close to the 360

Yes close but we dont know.
And yes they announced 70m one month behind, but that month was October, where MS could have easily shipped 2-3m systems considering it's the busiest time of the year and they would have been stocking Xbox's for the holidays. And 2-3m has been the same gap for ages...

MS only shipped 5.9mil for the quarter. They probably shipped more like a million in October (my estimates also put the Ps3 at 69mil end of september also.) and ramped up in Nov. Warehouse room is very VERY precious thing to just have units sitting around for a month. Stores don't get large shipments of consoles until about a week before BF because of it
