That's precisely the biggest problem EA and others may face in the not so distant future, they are putting all their eggs on very few baskets (Madden. FIFA, Battlefield) and if for whatever reason they have a problem with one of those baskets... they'll be screwed.

Althouhg it's not the same, we just have to look at Square-Enix. They sold several millions copies of Tomb Raider, Hitman and Sleeping Dogs and yet they posted a loss, blaming those games for not selling enough. Yes, EA has more better-selling franchises, but it's also a lot bigger and consequently need a lot more money to keep afloat.

Be careful, EA, your actions of today may come back and bite you in the butt tomorrow.

The only reason why EA still made a profit is because of FIFA and Madden (FIFA 13 sold 14 million units iirc). Without those franchises they will probably be in the same position as Square.
