P.s. once developers move to UE4 from UE3, the PS3 and 360 versions will stop appearing, and a direct result of that is the WiiU versions will stop too, leaving the WiiU with first and second party titles - If on the off chance someone DOES port UE4 (which i very much doubt for the reasons i've already outlined multiple times), it's not like theyre just going to give out their work to other third parties - earning money on a nintendo console as a third party is hard enough without giving away code you've spend hundreds of thousands to produce, to the competition. |
Last gen most publishers were more successful publishing for the Wii than the PS3 and 360. Have a look at the number of PS3 and 360 titles that sold less than 500K and the number of Wii titles that sold less than 300K. Of course, AAA third party titles such as CoD sold way more on the other two consoles but can you honestly say there's ever been a AAA title for the Wii from third parties..?
Wii development last gen is probably the only thing that's kept Sega afloat, and Capcom, Ubisoft and EA have all done well on the platform.
If Nintendo had ditched the TEV Unit from Hollywood last gen we would have seen scaled down ports of AAA titles, just as we're going to see for the Wii U this gen.
