I agree, that you have made both a good and brave post. Sooo many people a rear end hurt of Kinect and it's success. Notice how most of the whiners/haters have never used or almost never used Kinect? People just want to hate it - like many people did when the 'two thumbstick' configuration for a controller came out – it’s new and different and may ask more of you.

Some got left behind, but many embraced it and new gamers going the fold.

First - Kinect sold better it's 2nd and 3rd years than the first. So no, it wasn't a 'just succeeding because it is new' thing.

Second - yes it should be improved. It was a bit risky to lower down the tech so it could work on all Xbox and keep it from getting too expensive. It was still $150 at launch. This next one will be built with it in mind from the ground up.

Third - with the rumored more resolution, a wider range, and less lag Kinect 2.0 should be even more important to the future of human - computer interaction. It’s not just having an option of how to communicate with the game - but who of us hasn’t yelled a game at one point? Now it can react.

Plus - If you look at Halo 3 vs Halo 4 you see a nice jump in graphic fidelity. The next gen will hopefully have a similar jump. And then increases as the generation moves along.

18 more days and will see something new.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
