The art makes me think of the Chozo.  Ravenblade is a dead game, never to return.

Make sure to look at both of their respctive galleries too, RelflectingAbyss and BeastofOblivion....there's some pretty wicked stuff. ReflectingAbyss has some nice dragon stuff that makes me think of Ridley. Raven Blade would be sweet for sure, but I agree that it is incredibly unlikely. Having Platinum make it could be awesome though considering that video that was posted. Personally, I think it's Metroid which is absolutely fine with me.

Whatever it is, I hope it's a new IP and not another Nintendo franchise. Nintendo themselves should be handling IPs like Star Fox and F-Zero, not giving them to other 2nd party developers who could be working on something else. The fact that Nintendo needed Retro to help them finish Mario Kart 7 in time for the holidays is a joke in and of itself.

The Mario Kart 7 team consisted of 8 people. Eight. That's why another small team from Retro was brought in to help finish the game....and they only worked on the classic tracks and Donkey Kong since they had just made DKCR. Retro is also not a second party development studio....they are wholly owned by Nintendo. Platinum is considered second party since they are doing contracted work for Nintendo, but can still work on other projects for other companies if they want. By allowing a second party to hande things.....like Next Level and Luigi's Mansion 2....it free's up Nintendo's main teams to work on other stuff. I would much rather Nintendo handle new things while second parties do stuff to old franchises with Nintendo support. They bring new ideas to the table that Nintendo might not have thought of, and when they need support, Nintendo is there for them to help make the games as solid as if it were a first party title.

They said that they are working on a game that everyone wants them to make...The most obvious answer is a new metroid game

I thought this was proven false.....same source as the Metroid x Star Fox rumor that wasn't true.....???  Doesn't mean that they AREN'T doing that of course...just that it was never said (I think).  We do know that they are "too busy to work on Zelda" according to....Reggie? Iwata? Miyamoto?....someone at Nitnendo said that anyway....which is excellent.
