I don't think you fully understand why the wiiU is failing.  It's failing because Nintendoland isn't as great of a hit as wii-sports.   It's failing because pikmin 3 still has yet to be released.  It's failing because raymon legends was delayed, it's failing because the titles that both casuals and hardcore gamers want, aren't on the wiiU.  But eventually, those titles will come out, and when they do the wiiU will dominate the 720/ps4.  Personally, I think the ps3/360 will outsell the 720/ps4 for the next few years, the graphical leap isn't large enough to where 3rd party devs won't be developing their games on the last gen consoles.  And honestly, it may be 2-3 years before the 720 and ps4 really take off, and sony may not be able to last that long(due to their current financial problems).  The wiiU will be fine since the wii isn't supported, But the biggest sellers for the ps4 are multiplats that will likely be on the ps3, Sony exclusives don't sell very well.  The 720 will be in a little better position because they do have halo, but honestly, I'm worried about next-gen.

im sorry, but nobody will take you seriously with a statement like that.

wii dominated ps360 releasing one year after 360 and at the same time as ps3 while having MUCH inferior hardware. wii u has one year advantage and is little behind hardware wise. I know it doesnt matter what I say, you won't change your mind. but just remember not to disrespect others like you just did. If you can't prove him wrong through a vision of the future then don't say he won't be taken seriously. the wii u might dominate the others or it might be the other way around or maybe it will be balanced.

through my analyses I say wii u will dominate and at the very least you can't discard the option just like that, look at wii, 3ds and vita.

I don't get why some people can't see that it was the motion controls that made the Wii sell like it did. Without that novelty it's just another N64/Gamecube. The tablet controller just isn't as interesting as the wii mote was and it won't get the whole family to stand up and play. That's what made the Wii interesting, the active gameplay and it was accesible for everybody.

People who don't "get" Nintendo don't understand that the motion controls were not the dominant factor, it was Nintendo getting its head out of its ass regarding making mainstream software for the first time since the SNES era. Early Wii/DS era was a reflection of gen 3/4 Nintendo, late Wii/DS era, early Wii U/3DS is a reflection of gen 5/6 Nintendo.

If Nintendo gets their shit together, properly, then Wii U will certainly at least be a contender.

Edit: oh dear, now i too have been sucked in.

What mainstream software are you reffering to? The Mii games like Wii sports and Wii Fit all centered around the controllers they came with. Again without these controllers the Wii would not have been appealing to casuals. The only thing Wii-U has is the tablet controller but people aren't really atracted to that, they have been playing games on tablets for years now. And again it's not an active type of gameplay like with the Wii mote or the Wii fit.

Idk what he is specifically referring to, but the gamecube had a lot of niche games, and the n64 had very few and very expensive games.  Mario galaxy was the game that every core gamer wanted, mario kart wii brought online racing, super smash bros brawl somehow did better than melee, Zelda twilight princess was a return to the dark art style that every western zelda fan was craving for.  While the motion controls were implemented in those games, they didn't need to be.  Not to mention that the wiiU still fully supports motion controls, and chances are the casuals just want another wii sports and wii fit before investing money in the wiiU.  While I agree that the tablet isn't as attractive as the wii-motes, it's not the same as tablets, it's more like having an upgraded console version DS, and the DS is the best selling console of all time.

Sorry but almost none of you're arguments are true in my opinion. First of all the games you mentioned are not mainstream software that made the Wii sell, both N64 and Gamecube hade the same software. Mario Galaxy? Mario 64 hade a bigger impact. Mario kart? I'll give you the online support but apart of that nothing new. Super smash brother ''somehow'' did better than Melee? What did you expect with an install base 4 times as large? Zelda Twillight Princess? Zelda: Ocarina of time, need i say more? So there is no software that made the Wii sell that it's predecessors didn't have.

Yes the Wii-U does support the motion controls of the Wii, but that's not something unique for the system is it? It isn't something new either.

And the tablet controller an upgraded version of the DS? The DS is a portable console, the Wii-U isn't.

wii u has the multiplatforms the ps4 and nextbox will have + countless quality exclusives, all at a lower price. if that's not enough for someone to buy it, that person is not a gamer in any sense.

He was talking about the mainstream software that made the Wii sell and not the motion controls. And again Wii-U does not seem to have the same mainstream appeal.

And Wii-U will not have all the multi-platform titles the PS4 and Nextbox will have. Once PS3 and X360 stopping getting these multi platform games and developers start focusing on the PS4 and nextbox alot will pass by the Wii-U aswell.

And even if it would get all the same multi platform titles, gamers who are mainly buying a console for those multi-platform games will buy a PS4 or the next xbox. It doesn't make any sense to buy a much weaker system for your favorite games.

So what do you end up with? Only the gamers that put Nintendo's franchises first will buy a Wii-U, aka another gamecube, with maybe a few million casuals buying it because it is ''the new Wii'' once the price is right.
