I'm pretty sure that will happen. Consoles nowadays cant be hacked anymore unless you cut yourselft from the internet. It means no multiplayer (assuming firmware updates are mandatory) and no digital shops. Its hardly worth it, especially more with digital only titles becoming viable.

I hope you are right, the last thing the Wii U needs right now is rampant piracy eating into the software sales...
