Yeah although HP in the long run doesn't matter, at the start its pretty important (esp Lunatic).
Generally Def/Res are good choices. Def seems to be a must on Lunatic+.
I did Speed on my first Lunatic cause I kept getting doubled like a bitch early on but now I just use Chrom and Fredrick the first 4 chapters so I just go with Str/Magic depending on what I have MU go (1st File: Magic, 2nd and 3rd go Str).
