I love my Wii U and I'm excited for 8 games in particular that are on their way. I generally ignore Sony fanboy doom and I'm not dooming the vita in its current state. Competition inspires innovation! So it's good if every company succeeds

On a side note: How 'bout that 3DS! That thing is becoming the must-have BEAST!

I cant wait to get a Wii U, it seems like the true successor to Gamecube. Dont get me wrong I really enjoyed Wii but outside of Prime Trilogy, Galaxy, Skyward Sword, Smash, Monster Hunter nothing really stood out. GC  2nd tier games like Pikmin, Star Fox Adventures/Assault, F Zero, Luigi Mansion were much better than Sin & Punishment, Epic Yarn, Other M. 3rd party games like Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, Viewtiful Joe, Symphonia were better than Red Steel, No More Heroes, Symphonia 2, Conduit. Sonic and Resident Evil games way netter than the Wii counterparts. I regret selling my Wii before I had a chance to play Xenoblade tho.

I agree about 3DS, Fire Emblem, 3DLand and Revelations alone made it worth the purchase. I cant wait to get Luigis Mansion, DKC Returns(never played the Wii version), Mario & Luigi, Pokemon, Link to the Past 2.

If you are a fan of the jrpg genre, then I would seriously recommend picking up a used Wii just for Xenoblade - that game is a masterpiece

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.
