I think people interested in and considering Wii U based on when 3D Mario or Zelda are coming is an entirely different market than people who are considering splurging on the next-gen PS or Xbox. Nintendo consoles haven't competed for the "hardcore" gamer since the early days of the GameCube. They appeal to people who continually buy Nintendo consoles in order to play franchise sequels.
