The problem with Dragon Ball Z is that a lot of filler was made because the manga was still on going while the anime was in production. Some of things shown in the anime never happened in the manga. DBZ is full of plot holes and inconsistencies. Mr. Popo fighting Trunks and Goten being a prime example.
