Um no. Its not that E3's importance is lowered, its because they dont do two year development cycles like all the other developers. They work until they believe their work becomes a quality product. The last GTA launched in 2008.....thats five years ago. The reason why they are beyond E3 is because they dont need to tease the game when they know its unfinished, so they just dont show up. I am sure Rockstar will make a surprise appearance to unveil their product at E3 since its nearly finished. Rockstar is one of those exempt developers who have the ability to be their own publisher.
