After all Call of Duty changed things but nobody expected it when the first COD came out so impossible to predict, to be honest it's not exactly a nice direction it took it in either so best not think about that one :p
Then there was Metal Gear Solid 4...wasn't that supposed to change something, but nothing happened.
Industry is all about the cash more than ever so any change will be a bad exploited change.
