Bigger for who? You are overestimating the size of Nintendo's E3 audience.

I don't think you understand that every publication will have a write up and summary of the events of E3. Their press conference will get more views and press coverage than any Nintendo Direct. I'm interested in what Nintendo is bringing, but I haven't seen any of the Nintendo Directs (nor would I even know where to watch them). I've watched their E3 press conference for the past 6 years, so they lost an interested person who is outside of the core Nintendo fan audience.

I don't think you understand that those same publications cover every Nintendo Direct; and that, furthermore, any Nintendo Directs which take place during or around E3 will be treated as part of E3 coverage. They will be functionally no different from a live press conference from the perspective of journalists.

You are also unbelievably bad at the internet. Hey, you wanna see Nintendo Directs during E3? Click the "Nintendo" tab on whatever game website your on. That should do the trick. If you haven't seen any Nintendo Directs, it's because you haven't wanted to, and it's honestly outrageously silly to let a little thing like the word "Direct" in place of the word "Conference" determine whether or not you are going to watch Nintendo's E3 show.

As for the bolded, I have already offered evidence that Nintendo Directs reach at least as many viewers as Nintendo's past E3 press conferences. Look for yourself if you can figure out how to use YouTube.
