After thinking the situation for a while I think this won't change anything.
Casuals don't watch E3, simple as that. The only reason they get information is because newspapers and non-gaming websites make articles about the matter. So, if Nintendo gets the same media attention with no big flashy conference at the Nokia theater, nothing will change and this will only be use for Nintendo haters to say Nintendo is a smaller and stupid company (or that they need to grow up, I already saw that on this site).
