Yes, I don't believe it's a cop-out but I do believe this strategy is bad. This is not what Nintendo did with Wii and DS btw. Everything they've done with WiiU so far is nothing like what they did last gen. Oh, when I was refering to Wii/DS I was referring to the strategic element of those products; using inferior tech (in the case of Wii) but tried out a new controller. They tried this once again with Wii U, but that..... didn't go down as well. I'd have thought announcing release dates and showing videos for Mario Kart U, a new 3D Mario, Smash Bros, Wii Fit U would've been big enough honestly. Then there's also the 3DS. Nintendo have never feared talking about their "inferior tech" console at the same time as the others are speaking so I really have no idea why they're changing this. Sony and MS didn't stop making E3 presentations when Nintendo had the WiiU to announce. I actually hope they try something different than simply having a longer ND; in that case they could simply have had an ordinary E3 conference. Having Mario, Mario Kart, SSB4, Wind Waker HD, Pokémon X/Y, Zelda LTTP2, "X", Retro's new game, Bayo2 and surely other games as well would ensure a great e3 - just like you said. SO hopefully they'll do something different to blow us away, or else I don't see the need of 1-2h long ND's.... |
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
