Please tell me what graphic card is inside the wii u because it hasn't been revealed yet. also nintendo never said wii u relinquishes 1 gb of ram, what was said is that the OS used 1gb wich is diffrent from saying the games can't use more than 1 gb of ram. also you're making up the 7 gb available for ps4 and the amount of ram it has for games is irrelevant when less than half will actually be necessary.

It's pretty common knowledge that the Wii U is under powered compared to what we are expecting out of next-generation consoles.
The Wii U is to the Xbox 360 and PS3, like the Wii is to the Xbox and PS2. - Aka. roughly 2-3x the performance.

Also with the OS using 1Gb of ram, that should change in the future when they optimise the OS for a smaller footprint, freeing up memory for developers, I fully expect Sony and Microsoft to do the same with their respective consoles later in their lives.

As for the GPU, unlike the Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and probably the Xbox 720... The Wii U uses a completely custom GPU, however it is also built at 40nm so it's not going to be stupidly powerful for the sake of power consumption and die size concerns.

It's still a nice improvement over the current consoles, but like what I think with the PS4, I still would have loved to have seen more sheer hardware grunt, only just so we can see games technology pushed farther and faster.

wii was an overclocked gamecube with a little more ram. wii u has a gpu many years ahead of the ones on ps360, as well as 4 times as much ram that seems to be highly optmized so it could end up the equivalent of 3 gb of ram or more if we compare to the raw performance. so clearly the wii u is a nice step up from ps3. on the other hand, the ps4 and next box are not as big steps up from the ps360 as the ps360 were from ps2xbox.

it's like a much more powerful wii against moderately less powerfull ps360 = not that big of a difference.
