I don't know this seems like a path down a slippery slope, if Nintendo is going to have more "low key" events, it's going to reinforce the notion of the console space really becoming a two horse race between MS and Sony.

Nintendo Direct's are fun, but E3 is a much bigger deal.

Perhaps they are simply trying to cut costs.

From Iwata's comments it sounds like they won't be doing the whole renting out a big theater type event. So we'll basically get a Nintendo Direct and then a closed door event for journalists?

I don't like it. Don't like it at all.
