These titles look far better than anything Nintendo had for Gamecube. The few great games Gamecube had even had a very niche appeal.

Nintendo doesn't need to worry about competition. Look at the Wii. They hold their fate in their own hands. They can get it right (NES/Wii), or very wrong (N64/Gamecube). Just depends on how stubborn they decide to be in creating games that appeal to a mass market audience.

With the Wii it was the system itself that caused the sales, not the games. Plus if Sony didn't screw up and had just made a PS2-2 the Wii wouldn't have had at all as much success. In my opinions the GameCube games were far better than the Wii ones. Melee, Sunshine, Starfox, Luigi's Mansion, etc.
