Exactly.  Friend of mine does amazing work in various fields (drawing, sculpting, painting, etc.) and he hates everything he does because it can never be up to his impossible standard.  What I would give to be half as good as him.

Difference is that Pacini wasn´t working alone on Metroid Prime and that obviously the departure from Nintendo wasn´t a friendly one. It´s just a completely different matter if you criticize a work you made on your own and saying something "sucked" that was developed by a studio with many competent coworkers you left behind.
