Well of course it was selling less early on, it launched a year later. lol

You know how people used to really want to talk about aligned launches.... I presume they don't want to talk about that when discussing this subject?

To paraphrase "lulz... with aligned launches PS3 is already ahead and has been pretty much since it launched"

Now... "what a comeback!"

Carry on reaching for those cherries. Pick your data accordingly and hope nobody notices.

I don't quite know if this is a response to the OP, or to most of the replies in the thread ^^

It is in response to most of the posts in this thread....  arguments shift to suit the agenda.  When it is tried in reverse people get very animated.

Aligned launches were used during 2007,8,9,10,11 and 12 by a certain section of fans to show how well the PS3 was doing, but NOW they are ignored because its great to say "What a comeback!".

More evidence for you....

Annual sales of 360 and PS3 from their respective launch:

Speaks for itself.

After reading "PS3 is outselling the 360 weekly", "only 2009 360 was better" and so on we can now see how some try to put this into "but 360 sold better in 2009 (or was it 2010? Idk)! What a comeback for PS3 after this!" Ridiculous, really and not changing any number. Just interpreting numbers as one wishes.

But still thanks for this graph. I am curious how PS3 will be down YoY in its 8th year.
