The frist 3 years sony lost money on the ps3 now they are makeing it back.

4 years of losses (FY ending March 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010) 1 year of breaking even (the current one, FY ending March 2013), 1 year of profit (FY ending March 2011) and 1 uncertain (FY ending March 2012).
The one year when Sony included everything in one giant division is not certain.

I was actually very optimistic when I said the PS3 did not make any losses in this year (in my OP), because that was when the thailand floods AND the PSN outage happened.

A lot of people try to make it look, like I am making these things up, but I am not. This is what Sony reported.

Some people may argue that the current one is profitable and the Vita is ruining the division and not the PS3. But on the other hand Sony stated that the vita will not be sold at a loss. ( http://www.gamesthirst.com/2011/06/08/ps-vita-will-be-profitable-on-day-one/)

Economics: You have no sense for the word which makes your thread all the more terribly inaccurate
