Nintendo has the most detached corporate culture in the world. Nothing in the sphere of public opinion ever makes it through to the people in charge. At least with MS, Sony, etc they know what the concerns are and just refuse to do anything about them. Nintendo isn't even on the same planet as its customers.
They'd probably turn down $100m from someone offering to publish and take all responsibility.
