thats just raw manufacture, shipping and packing as well as adverstising cost o lot by themselves and arent included.

Law of diminishing returns. When you don't sell alot you don't make a lot. Profit isn't a fixed variable. I wouldn't be surprised if they were more profitable with the vita with a price cut.

Long term yes but since Sony is a big broke company so close to death a steady small profit is better than a risky large one.
