I come from the Middle East and unfortunately a lot of what was said here is true. I do agree our countries need to up the effort in fighting radical Islam, but a lot of these groups are actually supported by America. Look at Syria for instance (FSA are mostly radical islamists that are being fought by America elsewhere). Bin Laden also started off with Western support during the Soviets era, couple with that the American policy in the Middle East and you create this weird radical cycle which - surprise surprise - didn't develop until recent history.
Lots of factors here as well including ignorance and blind faith in our parts which can be easily exploited. I don't believe it is all on the West, but it's easy to see that they do trigger these spots.
