When Samsung ditch android... Is android even a commercially viable vehicle for anyone othe than google themselves?

To be honest.. for developers it was never and is probably never gonna be a viable platform anyway.. I mean.. In many countries million of people can't buy something from the playstore cause they don't have a creditcard.. Apple, (like nintendo, sony and ms) made these gift card so you can top up your account with some money.. Google does the same but doesn't release them worldwide frustrating developers.. People can't buy your app.. it's like google doesn't care about other developers.. not to mention the piracy.. I know developers who had like 95% piracy rate.. forcing them to make an ad supported version.. and latter on dropping it entirely

people bitch about Apple.. but they heck made sure people who buy their devices know what they buy, how to use it, keep them using it and more importantly getting them to spend more money on it.. It's like an entirely different audience.. it's like people who buy a race car and race in it and people who buy it so they can say they own one and then leave it in the garage without sunlight..

Anyway for google it doesn't really matter anymore... Google dominates the mobile search market with 93% in the US.. and thats were they promised to improve for advertisers (and they actually did since i talked to them in january.. you can now target mobile devices far better then before) so advertisers are a bit more happy know.. (still doesn't solve the bigger problem of people not comfortable buying stuff with their mobile, which is hurting google the most)

But they are feeling the heat of Facebook.. a lot of advertisers are going to facebook cause it has waaaay better information on potential targets.. the tools to target your audience is like: facebook = sniperrifle.. google = shotgun... and if they can implent their rumoured video ads (costs for advertisers 1 million dollar a day!) it could go fast in favour of Facebook.. Facebook ads are actually getting more expensive and google ads cheaper which is a pretty big sign for the future..
