To be fair; the PS3 and 360 are way down on what they were selling in previous years. You'd expect Nintendo's handheld to outsell them really.
With Vita, sadly, pretty much dead, and the Wii U still floundering, I think it's really important to the coming generation for the 3DS to sell well. Something has to! Beating the 360 in America on a weekly basis is a good start, but the console is what.. 7 years old now?
Hopefully the 3DS can keep building momentum, and keep the industry nice and healthy.
