Thats not the point. This exactly why Starfox Adventures turned the way it did, Nintendo takes a game likes the gameplay and reskins it with their first party. That is their train of thought when they make new games. Its a deceptive fact concerning true creativity but really a new, fresh IP for Nintendo is really what would send messages and waves throughout the gaming world as to whether they even care about having a varied strong gaming community.

Or all of the new "Wii" games that came out last gen?
Or some of the interesting downloadable games that come out now like Crashmo?
Or maybe bringing back not so popular IP like Pikmin and Kid Icarus that ever even sold that amazingly in the first place?
Or doing what no other company is willing to do outside of a little downloadable game and make some amazing 2D games.
You said it youself, Nintendo makes amazing gameplay, who cares what skin is put on it, whether Mario or Metroid or Starfox. Those are just to minimize the risk. In the end Their games are top notch and will remain so for a long time to come.
